I would like to share with you one typical daily problem headhunters have to face behind the curtains.

As headhunters, we meet hundreds and thousands of people. It is our job to constantly meet new people. We network to get new clients and we network to find recommendations for candidates. Interviews and client meetings during the major part of the day, admin in between and then an evening cocktail at some chamber of commerce at least once a week.

On the average a busy headhunter meets around 30 new people per week. And I only talk about meetings here, not about the dozens of phone calls in between. This means around 100 new people per month and around 1000 new people per year.

I think, everyone whose job requires regular contact with people,  will agree that first of all it is exciting, demanding, often difficult and stressful but  you learn a lot ( also about yourself) and sometimes, well, it can be really funny J.

As headhunters, we communicate a lot on phone, via email, skype and of course we personally interview the candidates.

Talking to tens or even hundreds of people on monthly basis, you can be sure to come across funny or sometimes weird situations.

I’m about to tell you a remarkable story…about a client.

Some clients are difficult or let´s say “challenging” other are really nice, satisfied with our services. Some are treating us as suppliers only others as partners. With the later ones we can work in our comfort zone and develop a true partnership.

In 20 years you and I will look at the iPhone and smile about its antique outdated shapes. :) and we will tell our kids and grandchildren, that this was a real big revolution - back then 20 years ago - and they will laugh.
