Women are better managers in CEE!

“Women are better managers in CEE!” A vast majority from 1000 Top managers agreed to this statement. The TARGET Expat study has been conducted already twice across CEE.  A vivid discussion at the Austrian Business Circle in Budapest followed the presentation by TARGET CEO, Dr. Klemens Wersonig and by CEU Business School Prof. Dr. Zoltán Buzády. Austrian and Hungarian managers shared their experiences about management culture. “How competitive is the Hungarian management?” was at the core of the debate moderated by Dr. Jürgen Schreder. While there are excellent Hungarian managers the pool of talent is shrinking. A significant brain drain can be felt, too many skilled people are moving abroad.

On the panel was also Mr.  Szilárd Orovica, General Manager from KUKA Robotics Hungary, who stressed that the company and management culture depends heavily on the size and maturity of the company. Therefore also local managers “grow up and are molded” in different international cultures. Mr. Klaus Einfalt, CEO from SW-Umwelttechnik shared that his company recently promoted a top Hungarian manager into their Austrian Board of Directors and said “it is a never-ending Austro-Hungarian learning curve from each other”.  Another key topic is missing customer service attitude. “Lead by example and focus on customer service” was the main advice given by the headhunter, Klemens Wersonig.
